Antenatal Clinic

Patients can be seen by the midwife at the clinics by appointment.

The antenatal clinic is held on a Thursday morning in the Health Centre.  Alternatively appointments may be arranged with the midwife or a doctor during normal surgery hours.

Baby Immunisation Clinic

The baby immunisation clinics are held each Tuesday from 14:00 - 16:00. The vaccinations are administered by the Treatment Room nurses.  A doctor will also be in attendance between 14:00 - 15:00.

The clinics are managed by our Health Visitor who monitors the Health and development of children aged 0 – 4 years.  Our Health Visiting service is available Monday to Friday and can be contacted on 028 207 61530 .

Asthma Clinic

This clinic is managed by our practice nurse Anne Drumm in conjunction with the doctors. Patients may make appointments to attend this clinic.

Carers

If you are a Carer  please make an appointment to see Nurse Drumm or Nurse Colgan for an Annual Review.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Clinic

This clinic is managed by our practice nurse Anne Drumm in conjunction with the doctors. Patients may make appointments to attend this clinic.

Diabetic Clinic

This clinic is managed by our practice nurse Anne Drumm in conjunction with the doctors. Patients may make appointments to attend this clinic.

Dr. Hegarty has a special interest in diabetes and ENT.

Coronary Heart Disease Prevention Clinic

This clinic is managed by our practice nurse Anne Drumm to help patients with diagnosed coronary heart disease or those with an increased risk, to monitor risk factors such as cholesterol, hypertension, weight and smoking. You may be invited to attend such a clinic; alternatively speak to your doctor who may refer you if appropriate.

Well Woman Clinic

Dr Bernie Hegarty, Dr Farah Nawaz & Nurse Anne Drumm are available by appointment for smear tests and consultation on women’s health issues. All the doctors are also available for the above by appointment during surgery hours.

Appointments may be booked at reception.

Well Man Clinic

Appointments for the well man check can be made with any doctor. Testicular and prostate checks can be arranged as well as counselling on other male health issues.

Family Planning

Contraceptive care is provided by all the doctors during surgery hours. Emergency contraception can be arranged by appointment or telephone contact with a doctor.  Dr Nawaz carries out Implanon Clinics.

General Health Checks

Health checks for men and women including blood pressure, weight and cholesterol can be arranged with the practice nurse.

Minor Surgery

The practice offers Minor Surgery for joint injections and other more specialised minor surgical procedures. All doctors will be pleased to advise patients on these procedures. 

Patients Over 75 Years

If you are aged 75 or over and have not seen a clinician within the last year, and would like a health check please make an appointment with our practice nurse Anne Drumm.

Flu Vaccination

An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, carers and residents of nursing or residential homes. Flu vaccination clinics normally start in October of each year.

COVID VACCINES

Covid Spring Booster will be available after Easter. If you are over 75 or Immunosuppressed  please call 07748030574/02820762684 to book appointment. This will end 29 June 2023.

Smoking Cessation

We strongly recommend all our patients to stop smoking and the practice provides help and support for those wishing to do so.

Advice on smoking cessation is available from all the practice clinical staff.  All our local chemists also offer smoking cessation advice.
